Sacrament of Holy Orders
“Believe what you read
Teach what you believe
Practice what you teach”
Catholic Rite of Ordination
Those who receive the sacrament of Holy Orders -- as a deacon, priest or bishop -- are consecrated in Christ's name "to feed the Church by the word and grace of God." Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time: thus it is the sacrament of apostolic ministry. (CCC 1536)
If you are considering serving the Church as a priest or deacon, contact your local priest or deacon or simply call the Trenton Diocesan at 609-406-7400.
